When someone close to you dies there can be so much to do and organise that it is difficult to know where to start.  We are here to help.

Whether you want a funeral service in church, the cemetery or at the crematorium, your first contact to make arrangements should probably be with a local firm of funeral directors, who will help you make all the necessary practical plans for the service.  They will contact the church and the member of the clergy team who will conduct the ceremony will be in touch witn you.  They will arrange to meet you to help you plan the service and discuss what else you may loike to happen.

What are the options?

Please discuss these fully with the funeral directors. However, there are some things you may consider when talking to a member of the clergy team:

  • Unfortunately, the graveyard at Holy Trinity Church has been closed for new burials for many years.  However, we do have a Memorial Garden and we can arrange for the burial of ashes here.
  • We can also make arrangements for you to plant a rose in memory of a loved one in the memorial garden.
  • The church has a memorial book, where we can arrange to record details of the person who has died.

What will it all cost?

This can often be a concern and please do discuss this with the funeral director or the member of the clegy team when they visit you.

What happens after the funeral?

This can be a difficult and lonely time and please do stay in touch with the church; we want to be able to continue to support you.  Twice a year we hold a memorial service and will invite you to this, where there will be an opportunity to remember the loved one who has died.
